HELLO TIGER!

I know you’re supposed to write this part in the third person but it’s her day off today so you’re stuck with me instead…

I was born and raised in the western district of Victoria and for most of my time since then I have had a camera of some kind in my hands. My fascination for photography has led to all my best adventures - from the darkroom at my high school, to the pictures collection at the National Library of Australia and all the way right back here.

I bloody love LOVE taking pictures of people doing things. My nana had a photo tin full of pictures of people doing things some of the people I knew but many I didn’t. It was fascinating. Why was this photo kept? Why were there 3 copies of that one? Who is Min? Why is this one out of focus? Who is the boy in the Essendon jumper in front of the tractor shed? On and on. So many of the photos were unintentionally beautiful too. An accidental double exposure. A bird cage mounted on a timber wall near a window. Just gorgeous. No one was posing in the way we do now they were just there. Looking at this or doing that. I bloody love taking pictures of people doing things. I want to contribute to the photo tins of the future.

I want to make beautiful photographs.

Let’s make beautiful photographs!

I’ll even find a tin you can put them in if you like.

OH FAQ!

WHY CHOOSE BIRD NOISES PHOTOGRAPHY?

Because you like my work!

That’s very important. The good news is I have other skills too… whether it is settling those ‘I hate being photographed’ nerves to suggesting what to wear for your family session or your professional headshots. I can also be a support for you during the planning phase of your big event if you want someone to chew over ideas with.

WHAT DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH?

Everything!

Horses. People. Babies. Weddings. Births. Trees. Cars. Objects. Goats. Christenings. Elopements. Formals. Backyard weddings. Headshots. Portraits. Families. Still life. Maternity. Birthday parties. Anything!

WHERE DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH?

I live and work on the unceded lands of the Wadawarrung and the Dja Dja Warrung people in the regional city of Ballarat and I am available to photograph anywhere.

CAN WE MEET?

Absolutely!

A face to face meeting is the perfect way to connect with you directly to get the best out of our collaboration. We can make a plan for the shoot or if you’re getting married we’ll go through your run sheet for the day and through a shot list to make sure we don’t miss a thing. You can ask any questions and if you’re ready we can review and sign the contract.

WHAT DO WE GET?

You get hours! As many or as little as you like depending on your event and budget. You can also expect an average of 25-45 images per hour depending on the pace. You also get a cheeky sneak peek! Within 24 to 48 hours I’ll send you a handful of pics to satisfy your curiosity and share with your crew. You’ll also get the full set of digital photographs and a selection of prints of the best photographs from the day delivered to your very hands within 3 to 6 weeks.

HOW DO PAYMENTS WORK?

Once you’ve decided you’d like to book, we’ve confirmed the date is available and how many hours you need then we lock everything in with a one third deposit. The rest is due a week before the day.

If you feel like a payment plan would be helpful we can chat about that too.

So… what else do you do?

I can help with branding, marketing, design and even knock you up a website.
